Lexx Rom

Lexx Rom refers to the main Roman script transcription system used on Lexxify Hub for a particular language. The systems are designed to be relatively consistent across a respective linguistic macro-region, such as Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, or East Asia, with a goal of minimizing clashing between systems as possible within the macro-region.

Monolingual English speakers/readers should note that Lexx Rom systems will not always be intuitively pronounceable based on English spelling norms, but they will aim to be as systematic as possible, so the investment time in learning the system will be well worth it in the long run. The systems are in general quite amenable to the eyes of most polyglots and language learners who have experience learning one or more transcription systems in the language. If an existing romanization is universally widespread to the level of Hanyu Pinyin for Standard Mandarin, that is still used as the default. Other less universal systems will still be supported when we roll out our future updates, and as the future features come out we will provide more detail on how we can support automatic conversion between systems.
